Spring Topiaries

I am so excited to share this with you! It has taken me a long time to finally take pictures and get it set up. Probably because I have self diagnosed ADD and keep getting side tracked. The inspiration came from Mary Janes and Golashes and her adorable butterfly wreath.

I wanted to do some topiaries the same way she did the wreath. So here is what you will need to gather if you want to make some of your very own:

*1 3" syrofoam ball

*brown paper lunch sacks

*scallop punch

*straight pins

*pencil

*small dowl rod

*small clay pot

*styrofoam (for the pot)

*moss

*paint (optional)

Step 1: Start by punching out A LOT of scallops.

Step 2: Place straight pin in the center of the scallop. Step 3: Take a pencil, eraser end down and place it on the head of the pin. This will help you push the pin in the ball. Step 4: Keep adding the scallops until you get the "fluffiness" that you want. Remember to leave a small space for the dowl rod to go. Step 5: Cut your dowl rod the length that you desire and glue it in the ball. (Picture is MIA) Step 6: Paint your pot if you would like. I just painted a white stripe around the top. Step 7: Cut some foam and glue in the bottom of the pot. Step 8: Place your dowl rod in the pot making sure that it is centered and straight. Step 9: Cover the foam with moss and trim edges to look neat. Step 10: Add your butterflies and ribbon. Here is the finished project! Here is my spring shelf! You can get your very own Subway Art at Eighteen 25! Thanks for stopping by! I love to hear from you all, let me know what you think if you have time! Happy crafting!
